Olan F. Karm, of Castroville, Texas, passed away September 9, 2025 at the age of 95. He was born July 23, 1930 in Castroville, Texas, to Oscar Linus Karm and Ena Phina Letcher Karm.
Olan was born and raised in Castroville and graduated from St. Louis Catholic School in 1949. On June 8, 1957, he married Winifred Christine "Winnie" Kosub at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in San Antonio. They were blessed with forty-seven years of marriage and four daughters. Olan was a third generation Medina County rancher and farmer. He was a member of the St. Louis Society and the Quihi Gun Club.
Survivors include his daughters, Annie Jo Arthur (Jay) of Castroville, Rose Ena Gonzalez (James) of San Antonio, Olana Taylor (Timothy) of Castroville, and Mona Lisa Karm-Felty (Crystal) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Olan Taylor, Austin Taylor, Rob Gonzalez, and Ariana Gonzalez; as well as numerous other relatives.
Olan was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winnie Karm; son-in-law, Gregory Turk; and his sister, Mary Lou Korus (Jerome).
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
Memorials may be made in Olan's memory to St. Louis Catholic School or to the charity of your choice.
