Oleeta Mae Saffles, 90, passed away on January 22, 2026. She was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on May 28, 1935. Oleeta graduated from South High School in Akron and later earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Akron.
She dedicated many years of her life to her career as a medical transcriptionist before retiring. In her leisure time, she had a passion for reading, bowling, games, and puzzles. However, her greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she took immense pride in her grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Oleeta was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Miller; her sister, Patty Bennett; her former husband, Kenneth Saffles; and her children, Kenny Saffles Jr. and Deborah Saffles.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Wood and Sharon Ingold; her grandchildren, Sarah Heldman, David Ingold, and Alexandra Olson; and several nieces and a nephew.
As per Oleeta's wishes, cremation has taken place, and she will be privately laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
