Olga Grace Smoot, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on August 4, 2025, in her hometown of Akron, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy rich with love and devotion. Born on November 30, 1954, Olga knew from an early age that her heart belonged to her family, dedicating her life to being a proud stay-at-home mom. It was through this remarkable role that she fostered an environment filled with warmth, compassion, and unyielding support for her sons.
Olga's husband of 49 years, Fred, stood by her side as a partner in both life and love. Together, they cultivated a home where laughter echoed and cherished moments were created, a testament to their enduring bond. Their sons, Matthew and Nicholas, who carry her spirit into the world, grew up enveloped in her nurturing care. Olga dedicated herself to ensuring her boys were lovingly looked after, instilling values and wisdom that will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
As a grandmother, Olga found a new depth of joy and fulfillment. She adored her grandchildren: Evan and Ari, Alexander, Henry, Leo, and Wyatt. Each grandchild brought an abundance of love into her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her heart swelled with pride as she watched them grow and thrive, always eager to offer her kindness and affection.
A woman of many passions, Olga loved to sing and listen to music, often filling her home with the sweet melodies that reflected her joyful spirit. She had an eye for beauty and often spent her time photographing nature and flowers, capturing the intricate details that others might overlook. These photographs tell stories of her appreciation for the simple yet profound beauty in the world around her.
She is survived by her husband Fred; sons Matthew (Amanda) and Nicholas (Erica); and grandchildren Evan and Ari, and Alex, Henry, Leo and Wyatt.
Olga's life will be celebrated at a graveside service at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio, on August 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
