Following a brief illness at Northside Hospital Cherokee, Canton, Ga., Olga peacefully passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.
Born in Nanticoke on Nov. 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Pearl nee Drahus Chorney.
She attended Nanticoke area schools and graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1945. Olga was a seamstress for many years working in the local garment industry, including Cohen and Fine, Wilkes-Barre, and was a member of the AFL-CIO.
Olga was a member of Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church and active in the church choir for over 40 years.
Her beloved husband, Michael, predeceased her in 2015. Olga was the last remaining member of the Chorney siblings, being preceded in death by sisters, Mary Graham, Nancy Lynch, Anna Grout; along with brothers, Russell and Michael Chorney.
Olga is survived by nieces, Jo Ann Grout; and Jean Pringle; and nephews, William Grout; John Zucker; and David Chorney.
Funeral liturgy with Panachyda will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 240 Center St., Hanover section of Nanticoke, with the Rev. Walter Pasicznyk, her pastor, officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in the church.
Burial will follow in Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Nanticoke.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, or to Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 240 Center St., Nanticoke, PA 18634, in memory of Olga Yurkowski.

My Deepest Sympathy to all of Olga's family especially her niece Jean who I graduated high school with. Would love to hear from Jean.
