Olivia was born on November 27, 1941 in San Benito, Texas to Emeliano and Maria
Salazar. Her family moved to Winters in her early teenage years. Olivia met David Lara in 1960 while working the cotton fields in Rotan, Texas. They were married on December 6, 1960, in Ballinger, Texas. Together they raised five beautiful children in Winters, Texas.
Olivia was a homemaker as well as a housekeeper for most of her life. She was a
member of the Mount Carmel Catholic Church of Winters. In her spare time, she enjoyed
spending time with her family, dancing, and we cannot forget playing bingo. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her love and memories will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Lara Sr., her sisters Beatrice
Villanueva, Estella Reyna, Oralia Aleman, Anita Sanchez, and brother Raymond Salazar Sr.
Olivia is survived by her brother George Torres, her son David Lara Jr. and wife Karen, her son Daniel Lara, her daughter Dora Yanez and husband Carlos, her son Demetrio Lara and wife Jean, her son Domingo Lara and wife Leslie, stepson Phillip Esquivel and wife Vanessa, and her best friend, more like a sister, Pancha Reyna, all of Winters.
As well as her Grandchildren: Ashley Scates and husband David of Levelland, Advita Aguero and husband Felix of Winters, Asenette Alonzo and husband Austin of Ballinger, David Lara III and Fiance Gaela of Wichita Falls, Anthony Lara and wife Miranda of Ballinger, Caitlian Karr and husband TJ of Dallas, Querstin Lara, Janie Lara, Selena Lara, Amber Clouse and husband Colton of Missouri, Jasmine Lara, Donovan Lara, Jade Lara, Delanie Lara and numerous of great grandchildren who all love and cherish her dearly.
We would like to thank Home Health and Hospice Staff for their loving care and support.
The rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Winters Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
