The graveside service will be held Monday at 3:30 PM in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-3:00PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Murray was a graduate of Stokes-Pactolus High School where she was Salutatorian of the class of 1967. She attended Peace College and East Carolina University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in English. After college, she worked as a social worker in Goldsboro, North Carolina where she met her first husband, Rick Musgrave. After having two sons, she continued to work as a part-time substitute teacher.
After the death of her first husband in 1994, she again attended ECU earning her Master's Degree in English. She went on to teach English at Martin Community College and East Carolina University where she met her second husband, Carlos Murray.
She always had a love for literature. She kept journal notes her entire life along with writing a few short stories. She also loved nature, music, and playing the piano. For the last month, she enjoyed riding bikes with her son, Zach.
Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her husbands, Rick Musgrave and Carlos Murray.
She is survived by: Sons, Zachary Musgrave and Richard Musgrave; a sister, Johnette Niece and a brother Marcus Whichard.
