Ollie M. Phelps was born July 3, 1935 in Huntsville, Alabama. After moving to Nashville, TN, she graduated from Pearl High School and Tennessee State University where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Ollie spent 30 years teaching our youth as an educator for Metro Nashville Public Schools. She was a woman of faith, loyalty, character and integrity, displaying an unrelenting energy well into her 90th year.
She was married to the late Harold L. Phelps, Sr. for 60 years, and is survived by her sons Harold L. Phelps, Jr. and Jeffrey A. Phelps; God daughter Sylvia Laird and her children Crystal Kee, Coyla Billops, Treasure Garrette and Freddie Garrette; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends.
