Omer L. Henderson

Reverend Omer L. Henderson, 88, of Uniontown, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on July 11, 2024. He was born in Manila, Arkansas on August 20, 1935 to the late Robert Lee Henderson and Mary Bertha Henderson (Aaron). As an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee, he served as Pastor at churches in Michigan, Canada and Ohio for over 45 years before retiring in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara A. Henderson (Glass).
He leaves a loving family; daughters, Doris Fuson and husband Rev Rick Fuson and Geneva Peterson and husband Vern Peterson; sister in law, Martha Pratt and brother in law, Rev Floyd A. Pratt; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Nelson, Sarah (Jason) Walkerow, Brandon (Missy) Noel, Natalie (Jim) Allen; great-grandchildren Kylie (Andrew) Graska, Cash and Gage Nelson, Ayden and Cadence Walkerow, Raina Noel, Abby Weikart, Aldous and Malcolm Allen; as well as, many extended family members across the USA and a host of friends and colleagues in ministry who have been influenced by his life of serving and loving. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation and Service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 4-7pm, followed by a 7:00pm service at the East Market Street Church of God, 2084 East Market Street, Akron, OH 44312. Reverend O. L. Henderson will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, Michigan at a later date.
