Onel Dean Bryant, age 80 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 25, 1944 the son of Willie and Lula (Taylor) Bryant. Onel had been the Road Supervisor for McCreary County and a member of the Old Gum Fork United Baptist Church. He was an avid walker and hunter and had been in the Coon Hunters Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cleo Bryant, Lowell Bryant, and Theodore Bryant; and sisters, Mossie Strunk, Mary Bryant, and Bea Caddell.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lula (Creekmore) Bryant of Whitley City, Kentucky; children, Sheila Spradlin (David) of Whitley City, Kentucky; Ronnie Bryant of Somerset, Kentucky, and Jeffrey Scott Bryant of Pine Knot, Kentucky; sisters, Pat Meadows of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Gladys Bryant of Georgia, and Nannie Koger of Georgia; grandchildren, Derek Coffey, Mathew Spradlin, Bradley Spradlin, Eric Bryant, Heather Pendery, Brittany Meadows, Ben Ball, Courtney Bryant, and Cody Bryant; and great grandchildren, Hunter Hegwood, Elijah Keeny, Bryson Spradlin, Myra Bryant, Ronnie Bryant, Jr., Gabe Pendery, Trendon Pendery, Charlotte Pendery, and Andrew Meadows.

Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday, July 24 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Smith and Bro. Tony Lowe officiating. Burial to follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
