Ophelia Albert "Naarah Yisrael" Tucker

Ophelia Albert Tucker, affectionately known as Naarah Yisrael, entered eternal rest on October 27, 2025; she was born on December 31, 1926, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Elijah and Victoria Harrison Albert.
She graduated from L.B. Landry High School in 1942 and went on to serve others through her work as a nurse assistant at Touro-Shakespeare nursing home in Algiers, LA.
In her younger years, she attended St. Matthews Methodist Church, where she developed a strong foundation of faith that would later guide her spiritual journey.

She married the late Malcolm Tucker Sr. and together they built a beautiful family and a lasting legacy. They became proud parents to seven children–Malcolm, Arnold, Terry, Kenneth, Cheryl, Donald, and Mark. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Tucker created a family enterprise that included Tucker's Food Store, a neighborhood grocery store in Algiers, that became a cornerstone for the community. Their ventures also included a boutique and a place for fellowship– spaces filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.

In 1983, Mrs. Tucker joined the Nation of Yahweh where she obtained her spiritual name, Naarah Elisheba Yisrael. From that moment forward, she dedicated her life to Yahweh and became a devoted member of the Nation of Yahweh and the teachings of Yahweh Ben Yahweh. Her faith was unwavering, her spirit pure, and her love for Yahweh evident in every aspect of her life. She was a woman of truth, honor, and respect, always pouring love into her family, her community, and everyone she encountered.

She is lovingly survived by her children–Arnold Tucker (Ernestine), Kenneth Tucker (Linda Williams), and Mark Tucker (Angela); her grandchildren–Tanya Tucker, Chuckym Tucker (Edward Scott), Manika Lewis, Troy Tucker (Prathi), Brandon Tucker (Sheila), Donald Jacobs Jr. (Samantha), Leah Israel, and Athalyah Israel-Merriman (Sklyar Merriman); her great-grandchildren–Neal, Zarnique, Terry, Chuniece, Tirus, Tarelle, Wykeen, Wallace, Diamond, Autumn, Jason, Mya, Troy Jr., Noah, Jaden, Na'Arah, Serayah, Bayla, Skylar Jr, Lilah, and Sampson; her 11 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents–Elijah and Victoria Albert; her husband–Malcolm Tucker Sr.; her beloved children–Malcolm Tucker Jr., Terry Tucker, Cheryl Tucker Tanner, and Donald Tucker; her brothers–Lawrence, Raymond, and Arthur Albert; and her sisters–Rita Brew and Mary Albert-Burrell.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70114.
Reverend Vaughn Kelly will officiate.
The Visitation will be at 10:00 AM until the time of service.

May Mrs. Ophelia Albert Tucker–Naarah Yisrael–rest peacefully in Yahweh's loving arms and may her life forever remain a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
