Ora Virginia Caldwell, 97 of Delaware, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, February 27, 2026 at her residence.

Born April 12, 1928 in Ohio, the daughter of the late Herman and Velma (Moore) Boring. On December 11, 1949 she married the love of her life Henry E. Caldwell. Together they shared 70 years of marriage and raised 3 beautiful children.

Virginia helped Henry in their Caldwell Construction business that they owned and operated and was also the manager of their rental properties. Virginia enjoyed gardening and canning, and she was an avid Bingo Player.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Judy Looney (John Bentley) of Cardington, Linda (Glenn) Pittsenbarger of Delaware, and Larry (Diane) Caldwell of Ostrander; 7 grandchildren Stacie (Jeff) Nelson, Jared (Tricia) Ray, Darrick (Shannon) Samuels, Anita Stockdale, Amy (Mike) McKown. J.R. Caldwell, Caylee (Andrew) Chanthathirath; 15 great- grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way; sister Phyllis Covett of Delaware, Nancy (Ted) Fields of Florida, special sister-in-law Bertha Boring; brother-in-law Leonard (Marjean) Caldwell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Caldwell, grandson Chad Andrew Samuels, son-in-law Richard Dean Looney, Great Great-grandson James Dean French, and sisters Ida Mae Strawser and Beverly Dickerson, brothers Kenneth Boring, Billy Boring, Franklin Boring and James Boring.

Friends may join the family on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Snyder Funeral Cener, Delaware Chapel, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware Ohio 43015. Where services honoring her life will be held at 3:00 pm with Pastor Donnie Akers officiating. Burial will take place noon, Monday, March 2, 2026, at Oak Grove Cemetery, please meet at Snyder Funeral Center to line up and go in procession.

The family would like to send out special thank you's to: Delaware Hospice, especially nurse Sue and social worker Jen, along with Dr. Eric Hard. Caregivers Kris Bass, Roxy Bradford, Kandy Cox and special caregiver and beloved friend Kathy Looney. Special friends Rebecca Gibson, Kymm Caldwell and Peggy Berry. Plus, all relatives and friends, including grandchildren that helped in various ways.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards Delaware Hospice or Eastside Mission Church
