Orie Lee Ranshaw, Jr. of Dover passed away, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford, DE. He was 73.
Mr. Ranshaw was born, April 28, 1951 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Orie Lee Ranshaw, Sr. and Anna Jeanette Saffield Ranshaw.
He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, as an auto mechanic and continued that path in his civilian life working for the State of Delaware DELDOT, until 1996, after 6 years. Mr. Ranshaw was a very happy and positive person, never allowing stress to affect him. He was a very loveable person and loved by everyone. Mr. Ranshaw was a longtime member of the Dover Bass Club. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, drag racing, spending time with his sons, playing on the computer, and chinese food.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Stevens Ranshaw; sisters, Janet Lee Minner and Susan Revelle; brother, Richard Ranshaw
He is survived by his sons, Orie Lee Ranshaw III and David Ranshaw of Dover; brother, James David Ranshaw of Smyrna.
Memorial services will be held 1PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray funeral expenses.
