Orin Clayton Odom, Sr. passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Orin was a native of Monroeville, Alabama, where he was born to Ernestine H. and Walter C. Odom, Sr. on March 29, 1946. He joined Bethel Baptist Church in Monroeville at a young age and graduated from Union High School in 1964, earning academic honors throughout his attendance. After graduation, Orin moved to Nashville, TN and attended Tennessee State University. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Following the completion of his education, Orin had a successful career in corporate real estate at AT&T for 48 years, prior to his retirement in 2020.
Orin leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Marilyn Odom; two sons, Orin C. (Shirley) Odom, Jr. and Bryan Odom; two daughters, Aspen Odom and Alexis Odom; three grandsons, Orin C. Odom III (Seyvonda), Jonathan Ross Odom, and Bryan Odom Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Ja’Niah Frazier, Ja’Liyah Odom, Karter Odom, Ja’Myla Curry, Ja’Myrinn Curry, Orin Odom, IV, and Noella Odom; one brother, Walter (Gertrude) Odom; three sisters, Luci (Ernest) Proctor, Valerie Odom, and Renia (Wayne) Dotson; one brother-in-law, Thomas David (Carrie) George, two sisters-in-law, Angela George and Jacquelyn Moore; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, other family, friends, and colleagues. His parents and one sister (Walretta Jones) preceded him in death.
