Orville Floyd Cattoor, 89, passed away on September 16, 2025 in St. George, UT. Orville was born on June 22, 1936 in Twin Falls, ID to Joseph Mary Cattoor and Nellie Ruth Armstrong.
Orville worked as a carpenter for many years and in many states and companies. He worked in Heavy Construction, he helped build water dams, the Luge for the Salt Lake City Olympics, and worked at the Nevada Test Site for many years. He loved to read, paint birdhouses, and gardening. He married Noveta Ruth Christy on July 3, 1956, and they had four children together. They had a happy marriage until her passing on December 25, 2001. He married Marilyn Whitmore Nay on January 2, 2003, and she brought two adult children and grandchildren into his life. She passed away on December 18, 2018. Orville was a very good caretaker, and not only cared for his wives as they passed, but would also care for those in his nursing home in the last five years. He would go and see what he could do to help others. He always worried about everyone else and was very giving. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved his Savior. He served for over a decade in the Las Vegas, NV Temple.
Orville is survived by his children, Lois (Brent) Thomas, Eddie (Nora Garcia) Cattoor, and Nancy (Lonnie) Cattoor-Cundiff; his stepson, Cal (Denise) Nay; his son-in-law, Norm Tom; his twenty-eight grandchildren; his fifty-five great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren with two on the way; his brothers, Steve (Joyce) Cattoor and Dave (Sue) Cattoor; and a large extended family. He preceded in death by his wife, Noveta Ruth Christy Cattoor; his wife, Marilyn Whitmore Nay Cattoor; his son, Donald Cattoor; his step-daughter, Anita Tom; his parents; and his siblings.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 10:00-11:00 a.m. PDT at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale, NV followed by the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. PDT. Interment will be held the same day at 2:00 p.m. PDT at the Nay Family Ranch Cemetery, 49900 Nays Ranch, Bunkerville, NV 89007.
