Sister was born on November 16, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Arthur and Dorothy (Link) Frommelt
Nancy entered the Sisters of St. Francis September 3, 1957, and made final profession of vows August 12, 1963. Sister received her MA from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA and her MS from University of Houston, TX. She ministered in Iowa at Remsen, Oyens, Bancroft, and Dubuque; in Illinois at St. John Brebeuf, Niles; in Texas at Houston; in New Jersey at East Orange, Newark, and Elizabeth; and in Pennsylvania at Wallingford, Fairfield, Secane, and Chester.
Sister is survived by her sisters, Sister Sally Frommelt OSF and Linda Pickus; brothers, Fred and Joe (Debra) Frommelt; nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan sisters.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Les Pickus.
The Sisters of St. Francis express their thanks to Hospice of Dubuque and the MSFC staff for their care and concern.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, 3390 Windsor Ave., Dubuque, IA.

For a decade or more in the mid 1980s and early 1990s, Sr. Nancy taught a course on environmental concerns at the Governor's School on Public Issues and the Future of New Jersey, and ran an integrative seminar. That means she touched the lives of 100 16-17 year olds over the 10 or so years. Memories of her are strong for the alumni, and we will be remembering her at a reunion in two weeks. One delightful memory is her teaching these academically talented students to hug trees.
