He was a member of New Greater First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shelonda Murphy; children, William Murphy (Malika), Shannon Logan (Billicia), Lecleo Brown, Edward Murphy (Pam), Jamel Logan, Lamar Murphy, Nicole Sickles (Kevin), Othell Murphy Jr. (Ivory), Erica Yancey and Julian Yancey; goddaughter, Larisha Smith, 9 siblings, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Visitation: 11am-1pm Friday, November 1, 2024 at Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church, 1030 So. Hancock St., funeral service to follow at 1pm, burial in Green Meadows Cemetery.

The first time I met Othell, was at his cousin, Vanessa´s house. He came in cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. Every time I saw him, he was the same. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.
