Otto Kausch, age 75 of Brecksville, OH passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Beloved husband of Rebecca Allgeier for 39 years; loving father of Daniel and Molly; brother of Edith.
Otto was born in Germany and immigrated to the US when he was about 5 yrs old with his family. He spent most of his young life growing up in the San Francisco area. Then moved to Baltimore MD and attended Johns Hopkins University, graduating from medical school as a specialist in psychiatry. He became board certified as a forensic psychiatrist several years later.
Otto was a hardworking, passionate, dedicated and wise psychiatrist and helped many people over the years. He had a long and interesting psychiatry career, working for the Veteran's Administration in both Cleveland and Tucson AZ. And worked at Tanana Chief's Hospital in Fairbanks Alaska, North Coast Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Cleveland Muni Court system for many years. In the latter part of his career, he worked in private practice and continued with some forensic work. He also had several articles over the years that were published in the areas of gambling addiction, suicide and other mental health concerns.
Otto was an avid and lifetime athlete and rarely missed a day of training even as he grew older.. He was a talented runner when younger and then moved into the sport of triathlon for about 30 years. He and his wife Becky spent much time training together, enjoying bike rides together and attending attending races all over the country for many years. Otto also greatly enjoyed reading, listening to music, having intellectual conversations with others and spending time with friends.
Otto touched many lives over the years and will be greatly missed.
A private family gathering will be held with a public memorial service to be announced in the spring.

I´ll miss our cookouts and dinners! And the "intellectual conversations" Otto enjoyed. I´m thinking of all of you!
