Pamela Sue Blades, aged 70 years, of Republic, MO passed from this life on December 29, 2024 with her husband by her side. She struggled for 25 years with Wegener's granulomatosis. Pam was born December 31, 1953 to Charlie and Gloria (Mitchell) Brandenburg. She deeply loved her parents and cared for both at the end of their lives. She was active in her church for decades.
Pam played the piano for First Baptist Church in Republic. She enjoyed playing the piano and had an 1800s former player piano in her home. She played for services and weddings. She worked as an accountant at Walmart for 28 years where she made friends. Pam farmed while working full time, raising cattle, dairy goats, rabbits, and sheep. She was active in helping her children with 4H and FFA livestock. She enjoyed flowers, could grow beautiful roses, and was also a gardener. Pam and her husband had a huge garden, and people would often stop to look at it. Pam canned vegetables and made goat cheese, she was an expert at saving food and butchering. She put out hummingbird feeders. Pam was an avid reader and that was her favorite thing to do if she had time for it. She encouraged her children to read and taught them to read and write early in life. She bought her daughter a National Geographic subscription each year. She helped her children obtain many post graduate degrees in the sciences. Pam loved playing with her grandchildren on the farm and they spent many hours together. She also loved the little dogs she had over her lifetime. Pam liked chocolate and it was her favorite treat no matter the kind or form.
Pam is survived by her husband of 52 years, T. W. Blades. Her children include daughter Tawnya, her husband is Ron Reed. Pam's son is Dr. Jesse Blades, his wife Amy Blades. Pam especially enjoyed spending time with Jesse's children, Lauren and Ethan Blades.
The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
