Pamela Lynn Cating, 60, of Fortville, passed away on January 5, 2026, at Rawlins House in Pendleton. Born on August 3, 1965, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to Dennis and Cora Forrest, Pam had a love for Jesus, life, her family, and a passion for helping others.
Pam attended North Montgomery High School and went on to create a beautiful tapestry of work experiences, from being a school bus driver to a bank teller. However, the work that brought her the most joy was her involvement with Mephibosheth Ministries where she devoted her time and heart to working with individuals with special needs. For over a decade Pam was a part of the ministry in various ways. She especially loved serving at camp over the summer and always said, "It felt like a little slice of heaven." Because of her involvement and passion for the ministry her son, Ethan, chose to get involved as well, which led to him meeting his wife who was also serving at the time. Pam's passion for helping others continues on through her son and his family who continue to stay actively involved in the ministry.
A graduate of Charis Bible College, Pam was known for her unwavering faith and love for God. She had a big heart for animals, often taking the time to feed stray cats and inviting them into her home. Pam enjoyed many things; crocheting with her mom, crafts, playing board games, gardening, playing the guitar, writing, and above all else sharing about Jesus' love with others.
Pamela is survived by her son, Ethan (Shiloh) Cating of Fortville and her grandchildren, Essie and Forrest Cating who will always carry her spirit in their heart. She cherished her family above all and found immense joy in her role as a loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dennis Ray Forrest, Jr.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
