It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela Hagele, 70. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025. Pam was the devoted, loving wife of 28 magnificent years to Re Hagele. Re and Pam brought together and raised four wonderful children who will all miss her loving presence.
Born in Oakland, California, in February of 1955, she was the daughter of Paul and Lois
Spierling. Paul Spierling, a U.S. Navy Doctor (Navy Reserve CDR Ret.), moved the family to the East Coast town of Katonah, NY, when she was seven years old. She attended and graduated from John Jay High School in Cross River, NY, in 1973, and then went on to study nursing at Springfield University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977. After college, she moved back to Katonah, where she married her first husband, Rick Davison, and had two children. She worked in the operating room at Northern Westchester Hospital until becoming a nurse at John Jay High School in 1998. She retired in 2018.
On April 26th, 1997, she married the love of her life, Re Hagele, and together they joined two families as one. As a nurse and mother, she devoted her life to helping others, but above all else, she prioritized her family. Always there to lend a helping hand or share advice, she was an excellent role model for her children and those who knew her. She had the amazing ability to meet you on your level and love anyone in the way they needed. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time and will forever be known for her delicious potato salad. Being Nana was her most significant accomplishment of all. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and her never-give-up, always-positive attitude.
She is survived by her loving and amazing husband, Re Hagele, her four children, Sarah and husband Shane, Michael and wife Samantha, Aaron and wife Christine, Eb and wife Sarina, her grandchildren, Dylan, Lewis, Ryan, Zoe, Emma and Riley, fur-children and fur-grandchildren, Trixie, Zara, Savannah, Chleo, Harley, Buster, Isla, Bob and Hera. They will all cherish her memory and hold her close to their hearts forever.
A private service was held on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, with close family members, and a celebration of life party will be held on a date to be determined. Her ashes will be spread in places that her family holds dearest to their hearts.
Memorial Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the St Jude Children's Hospital in her memory.

I´m so sad to hear of Pam´s passing and wish we had kept in touch. Pam was a friend since Katonah Elementary School, and a fellow John Jay classmate. Our fathers were doctors at the same medical group and we both attended the wonderful Katonah Presbyterian Church. I remember, decades ago as children, Pam confiding that she wished she had been named Ruth. When I asked her why she said (as I recall) because it sounded sophisticated. Pam was far ahead of me developmentally in high school and we were in different groups, but I always loved her and will miss her beautiful soul as it now joins her mother.
