Pamela Hoffman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 28, 2024.
FORT WORTH - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pamela Jean Hoffman a beloved mom, friend, and educator and who dedicated 37 years of her life to public education. Pamm passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at the age of 72.
Born on October 13, 1951, Pamm grew up with a passion for learning and a deep commitment to helping others. After earning a degree in Mathematics, she began her teaching career with Fort Worth ISD, where she would go on to inspire countless students over nearly four decades. Pamm taught at Arlington Heights High School, her alma mater, for 36 years.
Pamm was known for her unwavering patience and ability to connect with students on a personal level. She was known for her quick wit, hilariously sarcastic answers and laughter. She believed in the potential of every student and worked tirelessly to ensure that each one felt valued and supported. Pamm's second love was musical theater, and she assisted with Arlington Heights High School Theater productions for over 15 years. She was the chief seamstress and costume maker and was not beyond dumpster diving to find items needed for the yearly musicals.
Throughout her career, Pamm received numerous accolades, including Teacher of the Year and Tandy Teaching Chair, but she always maintained that the greatest reward was seeing her students succeed. She was not only a teacher but also a lifelong learner, constantly seeking new ways to engage and inspire her students. Colleagues and students alike remember her as a compassionate mentor, a dedicated professional, and a true friend.
Outside of the classroom, Pamm was an active member of the community, tutoring kids and grandkids of her many friends, and crafting for her annual Christmas Bazaar. She was a loving mother and faithful friend who cherished time spent with Cyndi and Ren, John and Izzy, Jimmy, and Luis and their triplets Valentino, Gio and Oliver, and playing cards with Emerson. Pamm loved football season and Saints games and Cowboy games were her favorite!
Pamm leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and a love for education that will continue to inspire future generations. She is survived by her daughter, Cyndi VanDertuin (Ren); and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Services will be held on August 31, 2024, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel to celebrate Pamm's life and contributions to the community. Visitation is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with a funeral immediately following. Graveside service is private.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arlington Heights High School Theater Department, 4501 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, in her honor.
Pamm Hoffman's impact on the lives of students and colleagues will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
