Pamela Pearl (Sweezey) Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on May 7, 2024, in Utica, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 25, 1953, Pamela's departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her.
Pamela was a beacon of resilience, having triumphed over cancer, and her infectious smile brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered. She found great joy in traveling and celebrating her family, creating cherished memories along the way.
After over 20 years of dedicated service, Pamela retired from Verizon as a business representative. Her life was a testament to love, laughter and unwavering devotion to her family. Pamela and her beloved husband, Dean, shared a beautiful life together, surrounded by their seven children: son, Richard Sweezey (Ashley), daughters, Melissa (William) Orr, Tanya (Victor) Rosas, Deanna (Donnelle) Raysor, Erin (Don) Jones-Coleman, Nicole Jones and Kayla Jones; She is also survived by her brothers, Michael Sweezey and Edward Sweezey and sister, Gail McTiernan, as well as 17 cherished grandchildren, 3 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pamela is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Evelyn Sweezey and her sisters, Diane and Sandy.
Throughout her life, Pamela also shared her love with several fur babies, including her recent companion, Hanna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests considering a donation to Anita's Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502, in Pamela's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Her legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
