Pamela Louw Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coats Funeral Home - Waterford on Dec. 26, 2025.
PAMELA LOUW
(née Greene)

Pamela Louw, lovingly known to family and friends as Carla, passed away surrounded by love. She was a free spirit with a kind heart, a deep love for adventure, and a creative soul that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Ben Greene, and her mother, Pat Greene, both of Clarkston/Grayling, as well as her beloved brother, Bobby Greene.

She is survived by her brothers, Chuck (Maria) Greene and Rick (Bethany) Greene, both of Clarkston/Grayling, along with her cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former husband and dear friend, Darin Louw of Clarkston.

Pamela held close friendships that meant the world to her, especially Monica, Jessie, and Arron, affectionately known as "the Four Leaf Clovers."

Carla attended Clarkston High School and Clarkston Renaissance High School. Throughout her life, she embraced experiences that brought joy and wonder-she loved skiing, swimming, and traveling, especially trips to Hawaii, where she lived for a time. Pamela had a deep appreciation for mythical creations such as mushrooms and fairies, and she delighted in collecting salt and pepper shakers, each one a small treasure.

Pamela will be remembered for her warmth, her adventurous spirit, and her ability to find beauty and magic in the world around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

"One love, one heart / Let's get together and feel alright."
- Bob Marley, All in One

Pamela was a beautiful soul with a wild spirit. She was caring, loving, and endlessly kind, with a wonderful sense of humor that could light up even the darkest moments. She loved antiques, mushrooms, owls, the outdoors, and above all, adventure. Pamela was truly a light in this world-her presence filled every room, and her laughter was contagious. Being around her made everything feel warmer, brighter, and more alive.

She loved her people fiercely. Pamela was an amazing friend-my best friend-and she was always there when you needed her, no questions asked. She had a special place in her heart for my kids, whom she adored beyond words. She loved to spoil them, create projects with them, and spend time making memories they will carry forever.

I met Pamela when I was 17 years old, when we were both working to earn our GED. From that moment on, our lives became deeply intertwined. Over the years, we shared countless adventures, lived together many times, and built more family traditions than I can even count. Those memories are some of the most precious of my life.

Pamela was my beautiful bird, free-spirited and full of love. She will be missed more than words can ever express, and her light will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know and love her.

I love you my beautiful Bird Flock home
