Pamela June Schrack, 84, passed away with courage and peace on the evening of March 19, 2024, surrounded by loving members of her family. She chose the first day of spring, the change to a new season, the season she loved most, as the moment for her own transition to a better place.
Pam, born June 10, 1939 in Huntingdon PA, was the daughter of the late J. Donald and Anna Mary Guisler, the second of four sisters (Sandy, Pam, Mary Ann, and Dee) who were raised at 610 Church Street. Pam was also preceded in death by her husband, Rob Schrack (2013).
Pam was an excellent student with a tremendous work ethic who loved to read. She graduated from Huntingdon High School (Class of 1957) with the initial intent of pursuing nursing, but her career shifted and she became a successful real estate broker. Which she created through the Schrack Realty business she helped to build after her marriage to Rob Schrack in 1959. Motherhood brought her the two most important blessings of her life, her children - Timothy and Lesley. While raising her family, she also served as a United Way volunteer, an active member of the Business & Professional Women's (BPW) Foundation organization, and a congregant of St. James Lutheran Church. Pam continued to reside in Huntingdon until 2019 when she moved to Homewood at Martinsburg.
The things Pam listed as being most important in her life were family, faith, music, work, and boating. She was known as "Bubba" to her grandchildren (Cassidy, Dustin, and Tj), and spending time with them became her favorite activity. She also loved watching birds - especially cardinals, and spending time at the lake, with her husband, children and grandchildren on a sunny summer day.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate staff at Homewood in Martinsburg for their loving care and support of Pam and the entire family. Pam's time at Homewood was a tremendous blessing that can't be overstated. The respect and dignity with which Pam and her fellow residents were treated deserves to be recognized.
Pam is survived by her sister - Mary Ann Chick (John); her children Lesley Saleme (Keith) and Tim Schrack (Christine); her three grandchildren - TJ Schrack, Dustin Schrack, Cassidy Saleme, their significant others, and many nieces and nephews. She was loved deeply and will be missed tremendously.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington Street, Huntingdon, PA on Saturday, March 23rd with a public viewing at 10 AM and a funeral service starting at 11 AM. All friends and family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
