Pamela J. Sherman

Pamela J. Sherman, 62, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Pamela lived in West Warwick with her sister, Linda, and her beloved dog, Sparky. She was the daughter of the late Melvin Sherman and Blanche (Bernier) Sherman.
She leaves behind a daughter, Brooke Ashley Merlino, son-in-law Joshua Merlino and grandson James Merlino. In addition to Linda, Pamela's siblings include Dennis Sherman (Pamela) of Berlin, MA, Susan Watson of Bristol, RI, David Sherman (wife), Cambridge, OH, the late Elaine Sypniewski and the late Daniel Sherman. She also had several nieces and nephews.
Pamela leaves behind her work family at MENTOR Rhode Island where she worked for 23 years. She loved her role as the program coordinator for the Warwick Mentor Program. She previously worked for MetLife where she first became involved in the program as a volunteer mentor.
She loved everything about running a school-based mentoring program. She loved the kids, the mentors, the school staff, and she loved the opportunities to celebrate mentoring relationships at kick-offs, holiday parties (with jingle bells on her shoes), and end-of-year parties! She often said her job was the best one in the world and she never wanted to do anything else.
She acted as an aunt to many young people. The adult you could have fun with, go with on zany adventures, do crafts, or play games. Pam was a great mentor, not only to her mentees over the years, but to so many of the children in her life.
