David Blake Howle, 91, was born May 9th, 1934 in Oxford, AL to Louis Howle and Nell Hubbard Howle.
David fell in love with Jesus early in his life and prayed to be a “real” Christian. Early in David’s life, God developed his dedication, perseverance and ability to inspire others through team sports and hard work in a variety of jobs in his community.
David was a channel of God’s grace and mercy to everyone he encountered, bringing countless souls in all walks of life to know Jesus. He served in churches in Alabama, Indiana, and Georgia. He served as an Evangelical Missionary in Korea from 1963 to 1969. In 1972 he came to serve at Edgewood Baptist Church, Columbus Georgia and the surrounding community for over 50 years.
After years of faithful service in his calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which began at the age of 16, he retired to his Eternal Home with his Heavenly Father on May 19th, 2025.
He leaves behind his faithful wife of 69 years, Carole Laverne Moore of Columbus, GA ; five children; Christy Burnell (David), Marian Wise (Rick), Kirk Howle, Tamie Lumpkin (Frank), and Holly Flachbarth (Ed), 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
