Pat J. Hanrahan, 85, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 31, 1940, she grew up in a close-knit farming community in Southeast Kansas. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1958 and later earned an associate's degree in business in Topeka, Kansas. Pat lived a life filled with love, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family, serving as a shining example of stewardship and selfless service to her community. On September 14, 1968, Pat married the love of her life, Don Hanrahan, at Assumption Catholic Church. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage. She was a devoted member of Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church, where her faith guided her life. Pat had a distinguished career, working for Goodyear Tire Company for 22 years, followed by over a decade at DuPont Flexel, UCB. She retired in 2007 from Topeka Independent Living. Her commitment to service extended to her community involvement with the Goodyear Women's Club, Holy Name Altar Guild, Holy Name PTO, Holy Name Fall Bazaar Committee, Hayden Mother's Club, and Hayden PACE. Blessed with many talents, Pat loved sharing her passions with her family and community. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she always placed faith and family first. She enjoyed spending time on her farm, gardening, traveling, cooking, and hosting social events. Pat also cherished cheering on her grandchildren in their various athletic sports and academic activities. Pat had remarkable strength, courage, and resilience when faced with health challenges. She faced these challenges with bravery, grace, and determination for the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hanrahan; her parents, Kurt and Elizabeth Nordmeyer; and her siblings, Dean Nordmeyer, Marie Nordmeyer-Hodges, and Larry Nordmeyer. Pat is survived by her daughter Shawna Meyer, son-in-law Ted Meyer, and granddaughter Shay Meyer of Topeka; her daughter Bryna Hanrahan, son-in-law Miguel Catano, and grandchildren Liam Catano, Cate Catano, and Aidan Catano of Overland Park.
