Mr. Pat Lloyd Knowles, age 88 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on January 28, 1937, to the late David Early Knowles and Luemma Puckett Knowles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Knowles was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda K. Blake; a grandson, Jerry Knowles; a granddaughter, Makenzie Mayhew; a brother, David E. Knowles, Jr.; two sisters, Stella Harris and Kathleen Layman; two half-brothers, Roy E. Knowles and Jack Wilson. Mr. Knowles was a member of Concord Primitive Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army, and loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Knowles is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Barbara Adkins Knowles of the home; a son, Kenneth Knowles (Darlene) of Meadows of Dan; a daughter, Judi Mayhew of Norfolk; one son-in-law, Matthew Blake of Collinsville; five grandchildren, David Knowles (Jessica), Andrew Bowman (Lindsey), Josh Bowman (Sam), Nick Bowman (fiancé, Tori) and Kaitlyn Mayhew; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Knowles, Savanna Knowles, Maci Knowles and Ashlynn Knowles; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Knowles will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Concord Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tim McGrady and Elder Brian Geist officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow in Knowles-Eden Cemetery. Military Rites provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
