Patricia A. Albee passed away on July 10, 2024 at the age of 77 at Saint Raphael's Hospital. She was born September 25, 1946 at St Raphael's Hospital in New Haven, CT. She was the daughter of the late Mary Winchell (Sweeney) and Roger Winchell. She graduated from West Haven High School in 1964. She was pre deceased by her first husband Thomas Ratcliff of New Jersey and her second husband Richard Albee of New Haven, CT. Also by her son Thomas Ratcliff Jr., her daughter Kimberly Albee and two step sons Robert Albee and Evan Albee.
Patricia was a fighter she was as strong as they come. Dealing with many losses of loved ones along with different heath issues. Anything you name she has been through it from different cancers to countless surgeries. And she always came through with love in heart and a smile on her face.
Patricia worked many jobs as she was a single mom for a long time. She was the smiling face behind the bar of Cafe Nine among others, Wolworth Welco, and worked for AT&T for 14 years where she retired. She then bought a food truck called Souper Burger with her son Tommy they did that until heath issues interfered. After living most of her life in New Haven, in 2014, She moved to Westbrook with her son Tommy. She sacrificed her retirement to take care of him, or I guess they took care of each other. She made many friends in her community in Westbrook. She enjoyed playing cards and always winning, doing puzzles and reading a good mystery book. After the passing of her son Tommy, she moved back to New Haven with her son Jeff and his family.
Patricia was a natural giver, always giving to different charities and volunteering at soup kitchens. She has helped the elderly with food and transportation. During the holidays, she often invited family, friends, and anyone who didn't have a place to go into her home with her and her boys. She participated in events such as, the Special Olympics for years. In June of 1998, she was one of 25 woman given an award for Extraordinary Woman of Connecticut that was conducted by the radio station KC101.
She showed her children what hard work and perseverance looked like. She showed them that just because you don't have it all doesn't mean you can't give life your all. She never quit and if times were hard she pulled through with a smile on her face while still willing to help who she could. She will be missed more than she could ever imagine. There is no doubt in my mind that she is in Heaven and had the biggest welcome when she got there. We may not have her here physically, but she will always be in all of our hearts and will live on through those she left behind.
Patricia is survived by her youngest, most handsome son Jeffry Albee, his wonderful wife Amber Albee (McGill), her four wild and hysterical grandsons Jeffry and Jayson Albee of New Haven CT., Marc McCoy, Kain Emerson of VA, her Cousin Mary Rody of West Haven and many extended family members and friends. I can't forget her most loyal companion who was always by her side her dog Chewy.

I lived across the street from Pat in Westbrook. I always enjoyed our talks sitting on her porch. Also, loved her dog Chewy. Rest in Peace and God Bless you, Pat.
