Patricia Baessler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home - Farmington on Jun. 18, 2024.
Pat, of Farmington, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away Monday morning, June 17th, at Angela Hospice, Livonia, following a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, creativity, and kind gestures, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. She was 74.
Born April 2, 1950, in North Tonawanda, NY, Pat's family moved to Farmington when she was 14 years old. It was at Farmington High School where she, along with her future husband, Tom, were members of the 1968 graduating class. She furthered her studies at Eastern Michigan University and earned a bachelor's degree in education. Following graduation, Pat taught kindergarten for two years, and was then a patient educator at Mercywood Hospital in Ann Arbor. Pat and Tom married on April 24, 1976, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington, and, following the birth of their youngest daughter, Katherine, she embarked on a 30-year career with Macy's Novi as a sales professional and merchandiser, retiring in 2020.
Pat was a gifted cook and a gracious hostess, finding joy in preparing delicious meals and creating beautiful table settings that added an extra touch of elegance to every gathering. Her direct personality was a hallmark of her character, and she expressed her love through countless acts of kindness.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished 8-year-old granddaughter, Ayla, who held a paramount place in her heart. Pat adored Ayla and delighted in gifting her clothes and toys, creating precious memories that will be treasured forever.
Pat's artistic talents were evident in her love for floral arrangements, which she thoughtfully placed throughout her home adding beauty and warmth to every room. Her creativity and eye for detail reflected her loving and caring nature.
Pat faced her illness with incredible strength and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering dedication to her family, her generous spirit, and her artistic touch will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Tom; two daughters, Elizabeth (Matthew) Scott and Katherine (Jason Promo) Baessler; her granddaughter, Ayla Scott; and sisters, Kathy (the late Bill) Furman and Nancy (Jim) Fornash.
Family and friends may gather at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington, on Sunday, June 23rd, from 1-5 pm. A ceremony honoring Pat's life will commence at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are kindly suggested to Angela Hospice, Livonia.
