Patricia Sue Baker passed away on February 27, 2024. Patricia, fondly known as Patsy, was born on January 30,1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Mary Markey McCoy and Roy Talmadge McCoy. She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Briggs.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her devoted husband of 68 love filled years, Dr. James G. Baker, and her three daughters Julie Baustien (Bill), Linda Taylor (Paul), Laura Lawless (Michael); her four grandchildren Beau Baustien (Laura), Rease Baustien (Jillian), Sarah Katherine Lawless, and Michael James Lawless; her four great grandchildren; Lennie, Lila, Marleigh and Baker Baustien and several nieces, a nephew and their families.
She graduated high school from Kentucky Home School in Louisville, where she was a cheerleader and Dasmin club member. She attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where she was a member and the president of Theta sorority. Patricia worked as a medical technician and held positions with Kentucky Children's Home, Louisville Today Magazine and Bittner's. She opened her own business (Poetic Flowers) to share her passion and joy for flower arranging with her church and friend's special occasions. She was president of the Louisville Younger Womans Club, a Stevens Ministry liaison at Second Presbyterian Church, and a Life Master bridge player. Patsy held board positions with the Red Cross, Kentucky Country Day, and was recently recognized as a Louisville Legend by the Louisville Sports Commission for her position on the first all-female board of the Kentucky Colonels Basketball team. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family, playing tennis, a winning bridge hand, painting and a passion for arranging flowers while listening to Mozart.
The family would like to thank her friends and caregivers for their lifetime of care, love and friendship.
Visitation will be at Second Presbyterian Church, 3701 Old Brownsboro Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40207, in the Narthex on Monday March 4, from 10-11:00 am, followed by a sanctuary service at 11:00 o'clock.
A celebration reception will be held for friends and family in the church's fellowship hall immediately following the service. Patsy will be laid to rest with a private interment at Cave Hill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Kentucky Childrens Home, 8711 Lagrange Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40243; or to The Womans Club of Louisville Charity Fund, 1320 South Fourth Street, Louisville, Kentucky, 40208.
Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's, "Where Louisville Goes to Remember."

I grew up next to the Bakers , played with Laura when we were young and became friends with Linda years later . All 3 of the Baker "girls" inherited Patsy´s southern grace .
My sympathy and prayers to the family on the loss of their matriarch .
