Patricia Baranowski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Montgomery on Jan. 18, 2024.
Patricia Anne Baranowski passed away on January 14th, 2024.
Patricia ('Patsy') was born in Joliet, Illinois on September 8, 1940 to Patrick Leo Landry and Marie (nee Voet) Landry, along with brother Phillip "Phil" (b 1944, d. 2022) and Kathleen Marie (Crabtree) (b. 1947, d. 2021). She attended all-women's St Francis Academy Catholic school, which later became Joliet Catholic Academy.
After school she married Steven Louis Rickelman, and was an X-ray (Rad) technician until becoming a housewife. They adopted three children - Bradley Stephen (b. 1965), Lisa Anne (b. 1967, d 2022), and Bryan Patrick (b. 1970) – and gave birth to Krista Marie (b. 1973). Following Steve's career arc from Minneapolis, Mn to Southfield, Mi, to Dallas, Texas they ended up in Houston in the late 1970s.
After she and Steve divorced, Patricia went back to work, working three jobs until regaining her X-ray technician license. She returned to imaging, and worked her way up to Director of Imaging Services at Tomball Regional Hospital. In 1982, she met and later married Vietnam War Veteran (ret.), Eugene (Gene) John Baranowski (b. 1935, d. 2019), who had four children - Eugene, Jr., Brett (d. 2021), Marla (d 2020), and Darby (Sam). She had room in her heart for all of them. Family was important to both of them. They'd met because Eugene had gone over to a table of ladies at a local dance hall and asked if any of them were Texas women who liked to dance – and Patricia said she wasn't a Texan but could dance like one! They spent a wonderful 30 years together, going to Buckhorn, travelling/cruises, fishing, and gambling at the Coushatta Casino.
Patricia and Eugene built their own home for retirement at Walden on Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas. They were active in St. Mary Catholic Church in Plantersville. In 2019, Eugene passed away, and Patricia moved to VIP Living Center in Irving, Texas to be closer to her children. Patricia passed away quietly on January 14th, 2024.
Patricia leaves countless friends and family missing her laugh and generous heart. She is survived by her son Bradley and his wife Jean, Bryan, wife Karen, Eugene, Jr and wife Suzy, Darby (Sam), wife Missy, and daughter Krista (Pound), husband Dan, and many grandchildren and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Marie Landry, husband Eugene Baranowski, brother Philip Landry, sister Kathleen Crabtree, daughters Lisa Anne Miller and Marla Baranowski, and son, Brett Baranowski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to Joliet Catholic Academy, Joliet, Illinois.

I was so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I have kept up with her and the rest of the family through my mother, but my timing was always off to see you all. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Please get in touch if you are near Austin, there is always room at the farm. She was a wonderful lady.
