EAST LIVERPOOL – Patricia J. Barnhart, of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, at the Valley Oaks Care Center. She was 87 years old.
Born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, August 27, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Cecelia Diebold Gariepy. A graduate of St. Stephens Catholic High School in Oil City, she moved to this area in the late 1950s. She worked for the East Liverpool City School District, first as a crossing guard and later in the cafeteria. Patricia enjoyed bowling, bird watching and cheering for the Steelers and the Pirates. She loved her garden, especially the roses.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack M. "Barney" Barnhart, in 2023. The couple got married on September 28, 1957. She was also preceded by a son Michael Barnhart, a son-in-law George Morgan, and a grandson, Jeffrey.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Debra Morgan, Ruth Cotton and her husband Tim, and Donna Hamilton; ten grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and a brother, John Gariepy.
Pastor Gary LeMasters will conduct a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 30th at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Immediately following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
