Patricia Sue "Pat" Barrett Patricia Sue "Pat" Barrett, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, entered this world on August 12, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, and peacefully gained her heavenly wings on July 30, 2025. Born to Bobby Cole and Dorothy King, Pat touched countless lives with her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Known for her no-nonsense personality, she spoke her mind with honesty and strength while always leading with love. Her warmth and charisma carried into her professional life, where she dedicated many years as an executive secretary for the Dallas City Council, the Mayor's Office, the Dallas Police Department, and the Office of Cultural Affairs. Prior to that, she worked as a legal secretary for several respected law firms in Dallas. Pat truly lived the words of Proverbs 31:25: "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." She approached life with joy, humor, and resilience. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, she loved watching old westerns, working crossword puzzles, and traveling to Las Vegas for its lively atmosphere. She also found peace and happiness near the water, whether relaxing by the pool or spending time at the lake. In recent years, some of her greatest joys were going to lunch and shopping with her daughters, creating treasured memories that will live on in their hearts. At home in DeSoto, Pat cherished time on her back patio with her beloved dog, Missy, and spending quality time with her grandchildren -who were the light of her life. Pat is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Brittany (Michael) Arnold, Amy (Robert) Reece, and Ashley (Luke) Cummings; and her adored grandchildren, Marley Reece, Jayden Cathey, Jason Cervantes, Brynlee Cathey, Kinsley Cummings, and Corbin Cummings. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Cole and Dorothy King, and her brother, Bobby Cole Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Midlothian Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Patricia's life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, and faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished. Family and friends are invited to share their stories and photos on her memorial page, celebrating the remarkable life she lived. .
