On September 25, 2025, Robert Elmer Day Jr. departed this earthly life. Born on August 17, 1937, in Oak Cliff, Texas, Robert led a full and meaningful life.

Robert married Agnes Hamilton on April 2, 1971. He and Agnes lived in various cities including Mesquite TX, Bullard, TX and then Irving Texas. Both Robert and Agnes worked at UTSW. Robert worked as a historian in the medical library there and ultimately retired from there. He eventually moved to Waxahachie Tx for the last four years of his life.

Robert was a devout Baptist. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he was an active member of First Baptist Church of Midlothian, TX and especially enjoyed The Explorer Group. Proverbs 19:22a "What is desired in a man is steadfast love(kindness)..." His faith was evident in his kindness. He was affectionately known around Waxahachie and Midlothian fire departments, and office buildings where he frequented as The Cookie Man. He loved to bake for others.

Robert is survived by his sister, Wanda Jordan, nieces, Terrie Money, Donna Tolliver, nephews, Phil Jordan, Todd Day, Chad Day and several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Day, his mother, Ruby Day, his wife, Agnes Day, his brother ,John McRay, and his brother, Bill Day. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In honor of Robert, we encourage you to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy he brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Wounded Warriors.
