Patricia Christman Bailey, fondly known as “Pat” or “Patsy,” transitioned to her heavenly residence on October 24, 2025. She lived an extraordinary life filled with joy, laughter and a boundless love for people.

Patricia Christman was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Mr. & Mrs. John R. Christman. At St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, she received the sacraments of baptism, eucharist, and confirmation.

Patricia attended parochial school in Davidson County at St. Vincent de Paul. She graduated from Father Ryan High School and Tennessee State University with a major in Business Education and a minor in Business Administration.

Patricia was employed as Executive Assistant to the Criminal Court Clerk of Davidson County, 20th Judicial District. In this capacity, she also served as a deputy clerk. Prior to her tenure with Metro Davidson County, Patricia retired from the State of Tennessee after 30 years of service at Tennessee State University. She was also part-owner and operator of R&R Liquor, Inc., along with her brothers, Kenneth and Michael. However, after 75 historic years, they decided to close in order spend more time with their families.

Patricia also served on the boards of Penuel Ridge, Victim2Violence, Northwest YMCA and was a founding member of the Bordeaux-North Nashville Chamber of Commerce. She was also a community champion for Naaman’s Retreat Ministries.

Although St. Vincent always remained near and dear to her heart, she made the decision to attend church with her husband, once they married on December 29, 2013. Rev. Cedric Jackson Bailey, Sr. became pastor of First Pegram AME and Patricia started a new ministry, “Ladies Online,” which was a prayer group that met the first Friday of every month.

Patricia was a member of the Parthenon Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Northwest YMCA, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and a Life Member of Jack & Jill of America, Inc.

Patricia is preceded in death by Mildred J. Christman (mother), John R. Christman (father), Kenneth “Boots” R. Christman, II (maternal nephew) and Pearl Christman (paternal aunt).

Left to cherish her most precious memories are Rev. Cedric Jackson Bailey, Sr. (husband); Youri M.[Draper] Hall (daughter); Kisha E. [Josh] Hammock, Carmil N. Bailey, Cedric J. Bailey, Jr. (step-children); Kyleigh A. Hall, Kellan A. Hall, Carson A. Bailey (grandchildren); Kenneth R. Christman, Michael J. Christman, Sr. (brothers); Willie Thomas “Bill” [Stephanie] Bailey (brother-in-law); Elaine Bailey Johnson (sister-in-law); Michael J. Christman, Jr., Keith L. Christman (nephews); Ernest K. Johnson, IV, Clara D. Johnson (godchildren); very dear friends Princess Gates, Janette Ridley, Bettye Trammell, Joshua Wiley; a host of extended family and friends.
