Patricia “Pat” Joyce Shambley Clark, 85, of Carrboro, NC passed away October 27, 2025. She was born June 25, 1940 to William and Lillian Shambley of Hillsborough, NC and was predeceased by her parents and sister Martha Shambley.
She built a loving home with her husband of 68 years Devan “Sonny” Clark. They shared a lifetime of beautiful memories and especially loved their trips hunting for handcrafted baskets.
She served faithfully for years in WMU at Carrboro Baptist Church and then on the Childcare board at Carrboro UMC. She loved children and poured that love into many that came through her small home daycare she had for 40+ years and her greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her children Michael Clark (Staci) and Susan C. Batts (Neal), grandchildren: Ashley B. Allen (Thomas), Katie B. Tugwell (Derek), Jonathan Batts (Megan), Austin Clark (Alysha), and Lexus C. McCraven (Daniel). Great grandchildren: Julianne, Lily Kate, Dawson, Adelaide, Mack, Oakley, Noah, Abby, Stratton, Ellie, Aurora, Hunter, and Merritt, brother Albert Shambley (Colleen), sisters, Valinda Kilbey (Edward), and Rose Mary Neighbors, and sister-in-law Faye Stinson.
Celebration of Life will be held at noon, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Carrboro United Methodist Church, 200 Hillsborough Road, Carrboro, NC 27510. Visitation will be held afterwards in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Carrboro United Methodist Church.
