Patricia S. Danehy, We Love You Mom! Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on April 27, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born Patricia "Pat" Kyne Schoendorf on March 6, 1935, in Norwich, NY, to parents Joseph and Lillian Schoendorf. She was the older of two daughters, and the beloved sister of Mary S. Stewart.
Pat pursued her passion to care for others, earning her nursing degree from Syracuse University. She began her nursing career as a registered nurse and worked in public healthcare, Pat was known for her caring nature and dedication to her patients. After she and Bud married, Pat became a full-time homemaker and mother.
Patricia was married on December 26, 1959, to Lester "Bud" Danehy. They were married for 60 years, until his passing on July 3, 2020. Throughout their lives together, "Pat" and Bud lived in places including Syracuse, Clifton Park, Pittsford, Newark, New Bern NC, and Rochester. She made many lifelong friends along the way and remained in contact with them throughout her life.
Patricia was a woman of great faith and an active member of her Catholic church. She devoted her life to helping others and was a role model to many. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and selflessness.
Together, Pat and Bud raised four sons, Kevin, Craig, Kyle, and Patrick (known as PJ). She was a devoted mother who always put her family first. Pat was a loving and supportive mother who instilled the importance of family values in her children. Pat also loved her daughters-in-law Sheri, Julie, and Karen, and was a doting grandmother who loved and cherished her eight grandchildren: Jake, Caroline, Paige, Aedan, Arron, Sadie, Clementine, and Ally. Rest in peace Mom/Nana/Aunt Pat/Pat.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Church in Hamilton, NY on July 21st, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Pat's memory to St. Mary's Church, 16 Wylie Street, Hamilton, NY 13346.
