Patricia Ann (Craig) Hebb Darville, lovingly known as Pat, passed away peacefully at her home in
Pensacola, Florida, on November 10, 2025, at the age of 78.
Pat was born in Greenville, Alabama, on March 7, 1947, to Omega Craig and Glennie (Gaston) Craig Scurlock. The youngest of three children, Pat was adored by her brothers, Vastine and Billy Craig. She lost her father at a young age, and when she was 10, her family moved to
Pensacola, Florida. Pat lived in the Myrtle Grove area with her mother, attended Escambia High School, and later graduated from Pensacola Jr. College. Pat married her first husband and welcomed Steve into her life as her own, helping raise him with deep devotion. Her heart grew even fuller when she gave birth to her daughter, Christi.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 33 years, David Darville, whom she met while working civil service at Pensacola Naval Air Station. Upon marrying David, she was blessed to become a stepmother to Jim and Scott Rhodes. Pat and David enjoyed a full and active life together. In the 1990s, they were involved with St. Mary's Productions, where they made many lifelong friendships. David volunteered many years with Pensacola Catholic High's football and baseball programs; Pat thoroughly enjoyed helping him at the school her children attended. They loved to travel and visit friends and family. Pat and David travelled many times to their favorite place, Scotland, where she connected deeply with her family heritage.
Pat is also survived by her children, Christi (Hebb) Pearson (Todd), Steve Hebb (Peggy Laprest), Jim Rhodes, and Scott Rhodes (Allison); her loving brother, Billy Craig; and her sisters-in-law, Sarahan Knowles and Sue Darville.
Pat was blessed with many grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Sydney (Hebb) Wint (Austin), Branden Rhodes, Adam Rhodes, Alex Rhodes, Garrett Self, Morgan Self, Samuel Rhodes, Brandon Pearson, Meagan (Pearson) Smith (Kyle), Jackson Pearson, and Dylan Pearson; as well as one precious great-granddaughter, Aspen Wint. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and their extended families who adored her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather David Scurlock, her brother and sister-in law, Vastine and Joann Craig, her brothers-in-law, Dean Darville and John Knowles; her sister-in-law, Laverne Darville; and her mother-in-law, Mary Edna Darville.
A devout Christian, Pat lived her faith daily through kindness, compassion and selfless love. She and David were active members of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Pat was an enthusiastic fan of Alabama football and a loyal Pensacola Ice Flyers supporter. She loved reading library books, working crossword puzzles, meeting friends at her favorite restaurant, McGuires, and spending time with her grandchildren- whether picking them up from school, taking them to the movies, or cheering them on at games.
Above all, Pat will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, her steadfast faith, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and loved. Her gentle spirit and joyful presence will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
