In Loving Memory of Bernard Wilson Hill
Obituary
Bernard Wilson Hill, 79, of Pace, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025. Born in Pensacola, Bernie graduated from Escambia High School, where he distinguished himself as an athlete, playing both football and baseball.
Military Service
Following his graduation from high school, Bernie began classes at Pensacola Junior College. He was unable to finish his education at PJC, because he was drafted into the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his deployment to Germany, Bernie returned to his final duty post in Spokane, WA, where he met Peggy Ann Brown. The two married on August 17, 1968, beginning a lifelong partnership.
Family and Career
After completing his military service, Bernie and Peggy returned to Pensacola, where they raised their two children, Brian Wilson Hill and Jennifer Jo Hill. Bernie dedicated over 30 years of service to Westinghouse, retiring as a machine shop supervisor.
Preceded in Death
Bernie is preceded in death by his father, Marion Wilson Hill; his mother, Armidia Theresa Webb Hill; his niece, Allison Rowland; and his daughter, Jennifer Jo Hill.
Surviving Family
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Hill; his son, Brian (Allison) Hill; his grandchildren, Spencer Wilson Hill and Madison Hill; his sister, Marcia (Bob) Wood; and his niece, Amanda (Michael) Cobb.
Celebration of Life
Bernie loved his grandchildren more than anything. From the time they were in middle school, at every parting, he would tell them to 'stay out of trouble' to which they would give him his favorite reply 'and if we can't, at least we'll have fun.' We will miss the smile he'd give them! The family will honor Bernie's memory in a private ceremony.
