Patricia Jean (Corder) Dowd, age 81, passed away in Irving on Monday, June 26, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 3:00 PM in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Pat was born on October 19, 1941 in Dallas to Jack and Ida Mae (Bower) Corder. In 1943, her mother passed away and she was adopted and raised by her grandmother, Ida Bower. She attended church at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Irving. In 2019 she made a New Year’s resolution to read a scripture every day, she had the entire bible read to her twice because of this. Pat was an incredibly generous woman. She was constantly reaching out to organizations to see what they needed and would make donations to fulfill those needs. This spilled over to her family, she was overly loving and generous with them, whether it be her children, grandchildren, or distant relatives. She enjoyed keeping up with her loved ones and old friends on facebook. She connected with lots of long lost relatives that she had found through her genealogy work over the years. When she was not helping out charities or spending time connecting with family, she really enjoyed listening to music, particularly 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, she especially loved Elvis.
Patricia is survived by her children, Rodney Gray of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Michelle Dowd of Grand Prairie, Texas; and two grandchildren, Hannah Stone of Grand Prairie, Texas and Kaitlyn Curry of Irving.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ida Corder, and her grandmother, Ida Bower.
