Patricia Karen "Trish" Harpring, 71, of both Capon Bridge, WV and Amherst, VA, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home in Capon Bridge after a short battle with cancer.
Trish was born on August 14, 1953, in Milan, IN to the late Thomas and Clara Wilson Peterson. She previously worked for the Decatur County REMC Electric CO-OP, the Virginia Electric CO-OP in Lovingston, VA and more recently retired from L3Harris Technologies. Trish worked as the head cashier for her daughter and son-in-law at the Sherrard Auction Company in Capon Bridge, WV.
Trish loved to interact with people, she enjoyed reading, camping, and following her daughter Rewa in all her volleyball activities, but she was looking forward to reuniting with her husband Bob which she got to spend Christmas with this year.
Trish married Robert C. Harpring on December 6, 1969, in Batesville, IN. Bob died on November 4, 2017.
Surviving is her daughter: Rewa S. Sherrard and her husband Wayne of Capon Bridge, WV; two sisters: Sandy Dinsmore (Victor); Marcia McMillin, both of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren: Rhett Mauer (Tessa), Jacob Harpring, Reid Harpring and Kalee Sherrard and her great-grand-dogs.
The family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 12:30-2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Smith. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Gore, VA.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Trish to the Gore Vol. Fire and Rescue, PO Box 146, Gore, VA 22637.
