Patricia Sue Hobbs, lovingly known as Sue, 82, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico with her family by her side. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family and community. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Sue's family at www.andersonbethany.com
A celebration of Sue's life will take place at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM with Barry Anderson officiating.
On February 10, 1942, Sue was born in Roswell, NM to O.W. Morgan and Martha Nell Hall. She attended Roswell High School, where she graduated in 1960. Sue began her career in banking in 1966 as a switchboard operator at First National Bank in Roswell, NM. In 1978, she went to work for Sunwest Bank where she served many positions from executive secretary to branch manager to the head of the SunSelect Club where she was able to travel the world with her customers. She especially loved decorating Christmas trees for the bank's annual charity fundraisers, turning each one into a masterpiece of holiday cheer. Outside of work, Sue cherished life's simple joys. She found peace in her gardening, love in her pets, and delight in a good Christmas movie. Her warmth, sense of humor, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Sue are her daughters: Julie McCormack and Rusty Brown, Deborah Hobbs and Bobby Wood; grandchildren Robert Smoot and Franciso Gandara, Tal Price, and Morgan McCormack and Josh Baker; brother-in-law Mack Haley; nephew Jay Haley and Brooke; grand-dogs Molly Ann, Jemma Sue, Abby, Riggs, Cali Jo, Lumen, Piper, Stitch, and Elle Rose. She was a constant source of support and wisdom, always ready with a listening ear and just the right advice – or the perfect joke to brighten someone's day.
Sue is proceeded in death by her parents O.W. and Martha; stepfather Raymond Lawerence; brother John Morgan; sister Louise Haley; and beloved pets Barney and Scruffy.
In honor of Sue's memory, may we all take a moment to share a laugh, tend to something we love, or watch a heartwarming Christmas movie.
