Patricia Hogshead Obituary
Patricia Ann Hogshead, 88, of Fort Valley, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Hogshead was born September 21, 1935, in Marmet, WV, daughter of the late James and Virginia Jacobs Clatworthy. She graduated from the University of Washington and received her Master's degree from Seattle Pacific University. She was a schoolteacher and guidance counselor in the public school system for 30 years. She was a member of White Chapel Methodist Church, Fort Valley Ruritan Club and the Red Hat Group in Fort Valley.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Hogshead Jr.; two sons, Michael Weyerts and Vincent Weyerts both of Washington state; granddaughters, Ashley Cummins and Sarah Worthington; great grandson, Leo Worthington and great granddaughter, Aubree Worthington. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Weyerts and two brothers, Jim and Bobby Clatworthy.

I was the ring bearer when Ann married Raymond Weyerts. As I was growing up, my sister and I would spend a couple of weeks during the summer with "Patty Ann". These always meant a lot to us when we were growing up. I spent my ninth grade year with Ann and Ray and that year changed my whole life. I will miss her very much. I also know that she loved Carl very much. When I got my Goldwing she told me stories about their Goldwing trips. Carl, I share your sorrow and grief during this time.
