Patricia Victoria Hussey

It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of my cherished mother, Patricia Victoria Hussey "Vicki" also known as Nanny to many of her family and friends. She passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 85 with her husband by her side, holding her hand. Born on May 29, 1939, in Pollard, Alabama, Vicki was a woman of grace, warmth, and boundless love. Throughout her life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, whose unwavering kindness and strength shaped the lives of all who knew her. She had the ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, always offering her wisdom, her compassion, and her open heart to those around her. Even a second mother to my friends in school who were lucky to get to know her. Vicki was a woman who treasured family above all else. Her home was a sanctuary for her children and grandchildren, filled with laughter, encouragement, and immeasurable love. Whether it was sharing a quiet moment over a cup of coffee, offering a word of advice, or simply being there when you needed her most. She had an incredible gift for making everyone feel safe and cherished. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lena Rice; son Greg Sutton; and siblings Kate, Flossie, George, Betty, Ellen, Charles, and James. She leaves behind her husband Douglas Hussey; children Mike Sutton (Teri), Debbie Dorrough (Mike), and David Hussey (Deeanna); grandchildren Jason, Zak, Holly, Wendy, Patty, Aimee, Allen, Melissa, Danny, Cory, Brandon, Dusty, Cody, Aaron, Amie; many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends, all of whom will deeply mourn her loss. Though we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her. Moms legacy of love, kindness and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is now in heaven sitting on her porch in Mosquito Flats, Fl listening to her dad play bluegrass on the fiddle as she plays the straws on the strings of his fiddle. The family will be receiving friends Friday, November 22, from 1-2 pm with services beginning at 2pm all at Hernando Funeral Home.
