Patricia Mae Jacqmain Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 99. She was born to the late Charles and Mae Allega in Vincennes, Indiana on August 3, 1926. She graduated from St. Rose Academy in 1944 and later met and married Arthur E. Jacqmain on May 29, 1948. He predeceased her in 2014. Shortly after they married, Art and Pat moved to Henryetta, Oklahoma. They relocated to Saginaw, MI, with seven of their 10 children in 1958, where she has resided ever since. Although very busy raising her 10 children, Pat often volunteered at St. Helen's Catholic School, where all of her children attended. She rarely missed their school-related activities or cheering them on as they participated in sporting events. She continued this unwavering support with her grand and great-grandchildren. They all adored her, and when they stopped over to visit, they always knew where to find the never-ending supply of fruit snacks! In her spare time Pat enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing euchre, and often lunching with her life-long friends. She rarely missed attending mass at St. Thomas Aquinas, where she was a member for many years. She also served for years as a volunteer at Meals on Wheels and a tutor at Carrollton Elementary School. After Art's retirement, they enjoyed spending time at their cottage and property in the U.P. – dubbed "The Perfect 40" – fishing and entertaining family and friends. They also shared their love of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching their favorite team. They are surely cheering them on together in heaven as the Tigers make a playoff run!
Surviving are three sons and four daughters: Trisha Grandel, Syracuse, N.Y; Stephen (Charlotte) Jacqmain, Coleman, MI; Jeanne (Nolan) Rosenbaum, Boise, ID; Geoff (Kay) Jacqmain, Travelers Rest, SC; Dan (Gail) Jacqmain, Saginaw, MI; Cindy Palmer and Cheryl Jacqmain, Carrollton, MI; daughter-in-law, Sally Jacqmain, Saginaw, MI; sons-in law: Michael Findley, Colorado Springs, CO, and Timothy Daoust, Kentwood, MI; 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Pat was preceded in death by three of her children, Mary Findley, Michael Jacqmain, and Susan Daoust; three brothers, Father Reid Allega, Reginald Allega, and Eugene Allega; and two sisters, Elizabeth Weiler and Joan Scullion. The family would like to thank Marcy Besaw for her loving care of our mom, which allowed her to remain in her home until the final months of her life. We would also like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff and hospice care professionals at Wellspring Assisted Living Facility for the excellent care they provided our mother.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly, will take place 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Nouvel Catholic Central Schools.
