UTICA – Patricia "Pat" "Patty" (Davis) Jenkins, age 84, formerly of South Glens Falls and Clifton Park, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born in Boise, Idaho, on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1941, Patricia was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Lowery) Davis. She was raised and educated in Burley and Boise, Idaho, where she graduated from high school. At the age of 19, after working four or five jobs, Patty proudly bought a one-way ticket to New York City-paid entirely in silver dollars-embarking on what would become the adventure of her life. While living in Manhattan, Patty met Richard "Dick" Jenkins. It was truly love at first sight. The couple married on May 25, 1963, in Queens, where they settled into their first apartment before eventually relocating to South Glens Falls. Their union was blessed with two daughters, and together they shared 42 devoted years prior to Dick's passing on May 11, 2006. As a young woman, she was also an accomplished baton twirler. Patty lived her life with energy, loyalty, and a strong spirit. She was feisty, full of life, and deeply devoted to her family. She loved gardening, flowers, and hummingbird vines and feeders. Patty's gift for conversation, quick wit, and lively personality earned her the affectionate nickname "Chatty Patty." Patty enjoyed volunteering and giving back to her community-serving as a Girl Scout leader and creating crocheted mittens and blankets for newborn babies. In her leisure time, you could find Patty enjoying a game of gin rummy, mahjong, or table bowling at the Masonic Home. One of her proudest accomplishments came in 2002, when she carried and jogged with the Olympic Torch along Main Street in South Glens Falls, as part of the relay for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Additionally, in 2013, Patty completed the Freihofer's 5K for Women, and her post-race television interview aired that evening. Patty delighted in celebrating holidays, both big and small, and took great joy in decorating, shopping, and preparing her home for every occasion. After Dick's passing, she found comfort and companionship in her beloved canine, Brutus Bear, who never left her side and traveled with her everywhere. Patty's memory will forever be treasured by her daughters and sons-in-law, Robin "Bobbi" and Randy Vogt, and Lori Jenkins Davis and Dr. James "Jim" Davis; beloved grandson, Lucas Davis, who was her pride and joy and whom she loved to the moon and back; sister, Phyllis Whitfield; and brother, Charles Davis and his partner, Trees Walker.
