Patricia "Pat" McCusker

On December 11, 2025, Pat (née Welsh) passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Camden to Lawrence and Amelia Welsh. Patty was a graduate of Glassboro State College. She began her professional life teaching Special Education in the Camden Public School System for several years.

After a time, Pat made a career change and entered the health insurance field. As her children grew older, so did her career. She became an insurance contractor, traveling to hospitals across the country to negotiate and write contracts for several major health insurance companies. Demonstrating her lifelong dedication to learning, Pat later enrolled in law school at Rutgers University, concentrating on insurance law, while continuing to work full-time in her field. She pursued this path until she was forced to retire due to complications from a back surgery.

Pat predeceased by her beloved husband, James "Jim" Schumann; her brother, Michael; and her sisters, Betty and Doris (Joseph Burns), with whom she shared an especially close bond. Doris and Joe were more like second parents to her.

Pat was a fiercely, devoted, mother, lovingly survived by her three children Katie McCusker (Valerie Londergan), Ryan McCusker, and Douglas McCusker (Anna Donofrio), as well as cherished nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, December 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, Fourth Avenue and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
