Patricia A. Gibbons McTear of North Wildwood, NJ, formerly of Southampton, PA, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was 72.
Patti was the beloved wife of the late Thomas, J. McTear Sr. and the devoted daughter of Paul and Marie McVey Gibbons. Patti was predeceased by her brothers Danny and Eddie Gibbons, her sister Marianne Gibbons, and her daughter Christine McTear.
Born in Philadelphia, she attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy, class of 1970. She later attended some college. She married her late husband, Thomas McTear Sr., on March 5th, 1977. She then moved to Southampton, PA in 1979 where they lived together until 2018 before permanently moving down to "the shore".
Patti spent most of her career working as a merchandiser for LEGO. After moving full-time to North Wildwood, she worked as a merchandiser at Home Depot, where she made many close friendships.
Patti was an avid puzzler and enjoyed crossword, jigsaw, and puzzle games. She was also a reader, her favorite genre being murder mysteries. Patti enjoyed spending time on the beach with friends and family, especially "sisters' weekend" and traveling with her loved ones. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and was often found cheering them on from the sidelines at sporting events. She will be remembered as loving, caring, fun, compassionate and "a real one" by her many friends and family members.
Patti is survived by her two sons, Thomas J. McTear, Jr. and his wife Amber Lynn Connell, and Patrick G. McTear and his wife Caroline McTear. And her 5 adoring grandchildren; David, Caylee, and Savannah Dutertre, and Hayden and Kieran McTear. Her siblings: Paul (Patti) Gibbons, Donna (Bill) Donohoe, Barbara Gibbons Cook, Suzanne (Greg) Gibbons Leven, and Nell (Scott) Gibbons Bailey. Her brother and sister-in-law Paul H. and Denise McTear, and her dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Patti's family will receive condolences on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.)
Richboro, PA from 1:00 pm until her Life Celebration at 3:00 pm. Interment will be private.
