Patricia "Pat" Monaghan, 75, of Syracuse, passed away on February 20, 2024.
Patricia was born in Syracuse, on July 31,1948, the daughter of the late Patrick and Louise Monaghan. Pat was an LPN and retired from CareGivers, formerly UpJohn Healthcare Services in Syracuse.
Patricia has given unconditional love (GODS unconditional Love) to anyone that she encountered that was accepting of it. There was no denying she was as sweet on the inside as she was on the outside. Don't be misled, there was a kick butt momma bear in her, when it came to her children, her family and someone in need. She was the type that would take anyone in, that needed help, especially mothers in need.
One of her favorite place to take her children and grandchildren was to the duck pond (Webster Pond) on Valley Drive in Syracuse, where she had donated her own ducks. Patricia raised cockatoos and the pet stores always wanted more because of how friendly they were; when she gave one to her sister he turned out to be the friendliest bird to all he met. Patricia loved her animals unconditionally, and treated them like family including those that showed up at her door.
From her sister Bridget: "Her smiles and laughter were so contagious, you would laugh along with her and then give her a hug in the middle of the laughter because it made you feel so warm inside. She was forgiving and never held a grudge or burnt a bridge for she knew we were only human and learning on our paths of hardship lessons, she should know. We all will surely miss her unconditional love but it will carry on for generations to come. I know she has a key to heaven and a passage to us when we are in need due to her accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior. I also have a feeling she will probably become Gods favorite. We love you Patricia unconditionally and will miss you dearly. Love you! Enjoy heaven!"
She is survived by her children, Edie Neves-Rivera, Doug (Allyson) Neves, Jody Neves, Jamie French, Tiffany (John) Gadoua and Louren Neves; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, and her sister, Bridget S. Monaghan. Growing up she had fifteen brothers and sisters, some of which predecease her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 10am - 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Webster Pond in her memory. http://www.websterpond.org
